Grand Canyon River Trips

EXPERIENCE THE HEART OF THE CANYON
TripAdvisor's Top-rated Christian River Trip!

GRAND CANYON RIVER TRIP ITINERARIES

We offer Grand Canyon river trips which vary in length and location.  All our river trips travel on the Colorado River through the canyon by 35-foot motorized rafts during the day.  No rowing or previous whitewater experience is needed!

Our trips normally consist of 26 people, who quickly become your “Canyon family”, and make for life-long friends.  Once you join Canyon Ministries, all transportation, food, and equipment is supplied.  Not only do we see and study amazing geology during the day, sleeping under an awesome canopy of stars at night is often a highlight for most folks.

All Canyon Ministries trips are family friendly and children age 8 and older are welcomed. A Grand Canyon river trip experience provides unique faith-building and bonding opportunities for families and singles alike.

Listed below is a brief description of our trips as well as custom trips…

7 OR 9-DAY GRAND CANYON UPPER RIVER RAFTING TRIPS

Events of Life

As you travel 187 miles along the Colorado River from the start of the Grand Canyon at Lee’s Ferry to Whitmore Helipad, you will encounter thrilling rapids and amazing points of interest along the river corridor. Side hikes, which many tell us become their favorite part, provide the opportunity to realize the Canyon’s depths.

This trip originates at 8:00 AM in Marble Canyon, AZ, but may include an optional flight from Las Vegas to begin your trip. Nights are spent along the banks of the Colorado River under the most amazing display of stars you have ever seen. On the last morning of the trip, you will have a short helicopter flight out of the Canyon to the Bar 10 Ranch on the North Rim, and then fly on an airplane back to your point of origin by mid-afternoon. A video showing some of the highlights of our 7-day trip can be watched here.

NOTE: If you are on a charter or other special “by invitation only” trip (i.e. a Christian Leaders or Foundations in Genesis Trip) please review your information packet for the trip itinerary, which will likely be different than the information above.

4-DAY GRAND CANYON LOWER RIVER RAFTING TRIPS

These are our shortest trips, from Whitmore Helipad at river mile 187 to Pearce Ferry at river mile 280. The trips meets in Las Vegas at the Desert Rose Resort at in the morning for a scenic flight to the Bar 10 Ranch on the North Rim of Grand Canyon. Horseback riding, horseshoe pitching, skeet shooting, and other activities are available for your fun-filled day. (Optional ATV rides are available for an additional charge.) In the evening, there is a teaching on the creationist’s view of Grand Canyon, followed by the Bar 10’s boot-stompin’ country show.

Overnight accommodation options include sleeping in a Conestoga covered wagon, on the beautiful deck, or in the historic Bar 10 lodge. The next morning, an exhilarating helicopter ride will whisk you to the Canyon floor where the lower 50 miles of the Grand Canyon are explored for a two and a half days as you raft down the Colorado River. Where the river meets Lake Mead, the last 43 miles are traveled by large jet-boat to meet an air-conditioned motor coach for the return to Las Vegas, arriving by 6:00 PM.

Meeting at the hotel is the only option for these trips due to the remoteness of the Bar-10 Ranch.

NOTE: If you are on a charter or other special “by invitation only” trip (i.e. a Christian Leaders or Foundations in Genesis Trip) please review your information packet for the trip itinerary, which will likely be different than the information above.

CUSTOM GRAND CANYON RIVER TRIPS

Canyon Ministries also offers customized charter trips. These trips require 26 people and are generally either 4 or 7-day trips with the same basic itinerary as listed above. Based on the interest or goal of the group, more time can be spent in Bible studies, hiking or just relaxing with friends.

These trips generally require booking at least a year in advance. Please contact us to discuss the possibility of organizing a special trip for your group – whether just friends or an organization.
