Grand Canyon Walking Tour Trail of Time Canyon Ministries

Requires a minimum of 2 participants.

Experience the layers of the canyon, without having to hike to the bottom!  This 4-hour Grand Canyon walking tour travels along the famous Trail of Time, with fantastic views both above and into the canyon.  During the tour, we engage hands-on with various layers of the Grand Canyon and learn of their significance to a biblical worldview of Creation and the Flood.

  • See marine fossils and preserved reptile tracks
  • Examine layers from the Flood in Noah’s day
  • Touch the rocks formed on Day 3 of Creation

Starting approximately 4 hours before the setting sun, this up to 3-mile round-trip walking tour begins and ends outside the Yavapai Geology Museum, just west of the Grand Canyon Visitor Center.  We start with sweeping views out to the east of the park, and down below to Phantom Ranch and the Colorado River.

FGrand Canyon Walking Toursrom there we walk our way west along the Trail of Time, which features various examples from the canyon’s layers and geological formations that have been brought up from its depths and placed alongside the trail for a truly hands-on experience. As we journey, we will be on and off the Rim Trail for various teaching times and panoramic views of the canyon.

Our tour concludes with a memorable time watching the sun setting in the west, as we close out the day at the Grand Canyon with the One who made it.

This walking tour is suitable for all ages. It is handicap and stroller accessible along the paved path, but does involve some hills where assistance may be needed.

Trail of Time Grand CanyonThe sunset walking tour runs Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, May to September, starting about 4-hours before the setting sun.  Tours are around four hours long, but total length of time varies according to the sunset.

Walking tours may also be available during other times of the year, depending on the weather.  Please call our office to book outside our regular operating window.

This hardback, spiral-bound, full-color guide to the Grand Canyon explores its geology, fossils, ecology, and history from a biblical perspective.

Featuring multiple three-page foldouts with panoramic photos for each of the major overlooks along both the South and North Rims and a spiral-bound lay-flat design to help you as you go through it, this book will be brought by your guide and given to you at the start of your tour.

We also have additional guidebooks for Zion and Bryce National Parks, as well as Yellowstone and Grand Teton.  All 3 guide books may be added to your tour, or ordered ahead of time from our online store if you need them beforehand.
