Join renowned Answers in Genesis author and speaker Dr. Tim Chaffey alongside Canyon Ministries Director of Operations Adam Huff for an exhilarating 9-day Grand Canyon “Hiker Special” river expedition. With a wealth of outdoor adventures under his belt, Tim brings a breadth of experience from his travels around the world. Meanwhile, Adam, the director of our backpacking program, boasts extensive expertise gained from leading trips across the canyon and into Utah, as well as spending numerous days hiking the Appalachian Trail. Together, they offer a dynamic blend of exploration and in-depth teaching, providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of the Grand Canyon’s significance and meaning.

Spanning the same 187 miles as our 7-day trips, this extended journey allows for a more leisurely pace and the opportunity to delve deeper into exploration. As the inaugural trip of the season, cooler temperatures afford the chance to undertake larger hikes to additional geological wonders we normally can’t get to during hotter times.  Rest assured, there is no hiking into or out of the canyon, and most optional hikes are of moderate intensity, making this trip accessible to all.
